The Organization is nodal body for large manufacturers in Construction/Engineering/Cement Industry. The Association's primary responsibilities are National Branding and Managing relationship with Government bodies, regulators and other relevant institutions. As a representative organization, it articulates genuine and legitimate need and interests of the industry.
About the Role
As Head of PR & media, the incumbent will require to develop PR strategies and represent the industry to the media. The Job will include :
- Cultivating relationships with journalists, including TV, radio, print media and online journalists, developing and maintain a database and email distribution lists of relevant media contacts.
- Support PR Department in collation and proofing of all content relevant for communications
- Review post print and production quality of all marketing communication works and relevant collaterals
- Verification and approval of speeches, quotations, blogs, content for media kits/channels
- Adept at word processing, report writing, market intelligence gathering, database management and making presentations communicating with colleagues and key spokespeople
- Liaising with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations, often via telephone and email
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media, Collating and analyzing media coverage
- Writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports;
- Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programs.
- Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours
- Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities
- Fostering community relations through events such as open days and through involvement in community initiatives
Key Skills required :
- Communications professional with experience in journalism, public relations and media management
- Previous experience of having managed Media/PR for the Government of India is highly desirable
- Experience of having worked with premier media channels - print and electronic - is highly desirable
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential
- Expertise in written and oral communication, with emphasis on clarity and brevity
- Adept at word processing, report writing, market intelligence gathering, database management and making presentations
- Ability to multitask and work under immense pressure, including being adept at crisis management
- Excellent contacts in the press and media are desirable
- An understanding of digital media is essential
- Should be a team player
