Head Project Infrastructure & Vendor Management
- You are responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's information technology infrastructure, ensuring its stability, reliability, and security.
- This role involves leading a team of IT professionals and collaborating with other departments to ensure the effective operation of all IT systems, networks, and infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the organization's IT infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and systems to enhance the IT infrastructure and optimize operations.
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to align IT infrastructure initiatives with organizational goals.
Infrastructure Management:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and data centers.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of infrastructure components through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data from unauthorized access or breaches.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Provide guidance and support to the team in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and implementing solutions.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and select external vendors and service providers for IT infrastructure projects or ongoing support.
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms with vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreed-upon service levels and contractual obligations.
Incident and Problem Management:
- Respond to and resolve escalated infrastructure-related incidents and problems in a timely manner.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles.
IT Governance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT infrastructure.
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement appropriate controls.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, including forecasting and cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor expenditures, track financial performance, and report on budget variances.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend strategies to optimize IT infrastructure investments.
Qualification And Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field with Proven experience of 12+ Years in managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers.
2. Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies, such as virtualization.
3. ITIL v3 Foundation certification and experience in ITIL-based processes & PRINCE2 certification.
4. Successful track record in delivering value through successful project results that meet business requirements.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
6. Excellent attention to detail.
7. Ability to think analytically and independently, providing the thought leadership necessary to introduce incremental and evolutionary change.
8. Able to communicate effectively and confidently in writing and presentations - complex topics and procedures with team members and all levels of customer stakeholders.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
10. Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO).
11. Experience in a scientific research and development (R&D) environment with demonstrated ability to analyse problems and propose multiple solutions.
12. Knowledge and hands-on experience of technical implementations of large scale, highly available, robust web/mobile applications.
