Program Head, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO)

An extremely rare large-scale human-impact + cutting-edge technology exposure opportunity for a passionate mid-level management consulting executive with an operations bent. Has built and validated a unique high-tech, low-touch model to alleviate extreme poverty (<$2/Day) with outstanding results in multiple pilots. Now, the Program Head will lead the expansion of the program to lift 1 Million beneficiaries out of extreme poverty in the next 3 years, first in India, then in a measured way, globally.

The Role:

Ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience, with a combination of Management Consulting and Operations, and will be responsible for:

On-Ground Operations with Product Mindset:

- Built on an impact thesis of lump-sum cash transfers (upto Rs 60,000) for the extreme poor, supported with technology-enabled skilling to deploy the cash for successful small-scale microentrepreneurship.

- Lean ground operations are key for scalability.

- As the program head, you'll lead on-ground human operations while constantly striving to product-ize and build tech solutions for operations, to deliver a highly scalable yet personalized development program for the ultra-poor.

Establishing & Scaling Demand-Side Programs:

- Will drive awareness for the intervention and scale donor interest with well-tested innovative donor programs, deeply involving families and communities.

- As program head, you'll design, launch and scale these new-to-the-world programs.

Grants Back-End:

- Will apply for FCRA License within 18 months, until then, grants will be received through Indian entities.

- The program manager will identify and apply for the same, building a rich network of support for a cutting-edge intervention with measurable results.

Skills:

Extreme Ownership with 1st principles thinking:

- As Program head, you'll drive a mix of beneficiary operations, brand-building, and donor programs.

- This requires extreme ownership of all aspects of the NGO, and solving multi-faceted functional problems, from leading operations to guiding an ace product/tech team to creating innovative brand-development programs from scratch and driving rigorous P&L management.

- You'll be excellent in the role if you love solving problems across a range of disciplines using first principles.

Hands-On Detail Orientation:

- As the leader of operations, you will both create and execute the playbook that has delivered excellent results in pilot at scale.

- You'll excel if you're a detail-obsessed craftsman at the beginning and subsequently hire, lead and inspire a team to scale the intervention with the same attention to detail across ultiple geographies.

Deep Love and Empathy for Beneficiaries:

- Our target beneficiary is the most vulnerable economic segment with no education, assets or skills.

- The program manager should care deeply about impacting millions very personally by getting them access to the intervention and transforming their lives.

Location: The company is headquartered in North Goa, and will require relocation to the wonderful state of Goa to be closely connected to the product and program management team.
