The Head of Professional Service Group (PSG) role is a leadership position suitable for an experienced professional with comparable accountability in the last 5-7 years. A suitable candidate will bring the passion and energy backed by superior skills in managing sizeable (300-800+) distributed teams with strong people management capability to run a global delivery operation.
- As the Head of PSG, you would be responsible to deliver business growth in collaboration with Sales, other parts of PSG, and support functions like HR/ Recruiting and Finance.
- Inculcate a culture of meritocracy and metrics driven performance for customer commitments and people management.
- Visit the Delivery Unit locations (Pune / Mumbai / Hyderabad), with regular travel to these locations to have people engagement.
- Involve in setting and supporting Customer Satisfaction goals, Succession planning for Professional services organization across levels & Leadership development.
- Conduct reviews of engagements to encourage proactive communication of status, risks and mitigation plans.
- Drive knowledge management and create solution assets that are extendable and maintainable going forward
- Utilize effective engagement of executives, Sales, Engineering, and Product Management to address customer needs
- Lead large-scale integration efforts involving the entire product suite giving direction to systems integration partners, client and PSG resources. These projects should include the full integration life cycle from POC to production
- Manage a team of highly-technical, highly-capable Technical Architects, Consultants and Developers from both the project and career perspectives; recognizing and developing talents; identifying and filling skills gaps; own and driving career plans to help develop a dynamic and responsive team to assist customers in driving value from their IT investments
- Build and enhance the capability across the range of products and technology
CANDIDATE PROFILE (POSITION REQUIREMENTS)
- Minimum 18 years of IT experience (includes technical consulting and engagement delivery in the software industry)
- Strong people management expertise.
- 8-10 years minimum with experience in engagement delivery, in the software industry.
- 8 years minimum in front line technical consulting, either as an individual contributor or project/program manager.
- Experience with Solution Selling and Integration/Middleware or OTS products tools.
- Must have the ability to work with customers to clearly identify requirements, provide sound planning and technical leadership
- Understand client's business (critical success factors, markets, customers, competition) and set account strategies to compliment the client's goals.
- Must have the ability to effectively scope the work to be accomplished.
- Must have demonstrated ability to manage technical projects, control cost, deliver on schedule and manage customer expectations.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed, up to 25% of the time
- Able to make recommendations based on client's explicit and implied needs and translates those needs into sales opportunities and proposals.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Effective presentation skills & Detail Oriented
- Demonstrated skills in all phases of the sales process.
- Must have the ability to identify and mitigate areas of risk.
