Job Description Summary:
- The production manager will be involved with the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
The production manager’s tasks will typically involve:
- overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule
- ensuring that the production is cost effective
- making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality
- working out the human and material resources needed
- drafting a timescale for the job
- estimating costs and setting the quality standards
- monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
- being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment
- monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programme
Experience:
The ideal candidate should have the following as the minimum:
- Relevant work experience in factories in frontier markets.
- Willingness to work in Ethiopia short term (minimum 3 months) or full time.
- Degree educated in Engineering or equivalent Strong Engineering factory leadership experience within the Food (fresh or ambient), Bakery or Beverages manufacturing sectors
- Minimum 7 years of experience in pre-production (planning) and production (control and supervision) stage.
- Strong engineering skills with mechanical/electrical/controls aptitude
- Seasoned, problem solver with conflict management skills
- Inspiring leader with experience of coaching and leading a large team
- Experience in product design and purchasing.
