Head of Product Development
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's mission and long-term goals.
- Inspire and guide teams and stakeholders to embrace this vision.
- Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap, setting priorities based on business goals, market needs, and customer feedback to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional product team, including product managers, designers, and engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from concept and design to development, testing, and launch, ensuring delivery timelines and budgets are met.
- Promote and implement user-centered design practices, conducting user research and usability testing to ensure products are engaging, intuitive, and meet user expectations.
- Define and monitor product performance metrics, regularly providing updates to the executive team and other key stakeholders to inform product adjustments and optimize outcomes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, support, etc) to align product strategies with business objectives and ensure cohesive product positioning.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Product Management, Engineering, Business); an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 20+ years in product leadership roles within a technology or software firm, with a proven record of managing and launching successful products.
- Strong understanding of product development processes and methodologies, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decisions and improve products.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in leading and motivating high-performing teams.
- Skilled at building relationships across departments and managing executive expectations.
- Extensive knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices, with a commitment to creating products that deliver outstanding user experiences.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, making strategic adjustments as needed to stay aligned with evolving business goals.
