Our Client, a Leading Real Estate Group is looking out for a Head of Procurement to be based at Lucknow.

Job Summary

The Head of Procurement and Contracts will lead the procurement and contracts department for the real estate group, ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials, services, and contractors, while maintaining adherence to contractual agreements and legal requirements. The role requires expertise in managing procurement strategies, negotiations, vendor relationships, and contracts for construction and real estate projects. The Head will play a key role in managing cost control and risk management while contributing to the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Management

- Develop and execute the procurement strategy aligned with the group's business goals and project timelines.

- Oversee sourcing and purchasing of goods, services, and construction materials for all real estate development projects.

- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure the availability of quality products and services at competitive prices.

- Ensure compliance with all procurement policies, processes, and regulatory requirements in the procurement of goods and services.

- Implement best practices in procurement, including sustainability and ethical sourcing.

2. Contract Management

- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and finalization of contracts with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

- Ensure that contracts are comprehensive, legally sound, and aligned with the company's objectives and regulatory requirements.

- Monitor and manage ongoing contract performance, ensuring that all terms and conditions are met.

- Develop and implement contract risk management strategies to minimize exposure to risks associated with delays, non-compliance, and disputes.

- Oversee the timely and cost-effective resolution of contract-related issues.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Lead and mentor the procurement and contracts team, ensuring high performance and adherence to deadlines.

- Collaborate closely with project managers, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure the seamless execution of projects.

- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on procurement and contractual matters.

- Conduct training and development programs for internal teams regarding procurement and contract management best practices.

4. Cost Control & Budget Management

- Develop and manage the procurement budget and ensure cost efficiency in all procurement activities.

- Regularly track and analyze procurement and contract performance to identify areas of improvement and cost savings.

- Ensure that procurement and contract expenditures stay within project budgets and timelines.

5. Vendor and Contract Performance Evaluation

- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of vendors and contracts to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

- Handle disputes, claims, and warranty issues related to contracts and vendors.

6. Compliance and Risk Management

- Ensure all procurement and contractual activities adhere to local regulations, legal standards, and the company's internal policies.

- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact procurement and contracts in the real estate sector.

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.

- Certifications in procurement or contract management (e.g., CIPS, PMP) are a plus.

Experience:

- Strategic and hands-on experience in procurement and contracts management in a senior leadership role within the real estate or construction industry.

- Strong experience in managing procurement for large-scale real estate projects (residential, commercial, or mixed-use).

- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and managing supplier relationships.

Skills and Competencies:

- In-depth knowledge of procurement strategies, contract law, and project management.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and opportunities in procurement and contracts.

- Ability to work under pressure and handle complex negotiations and project timelines.

Languages:

- Proficiency in English and Hindi (additional local languages may be a plus).
