Head - Procurement - Consumer Durable

One of the most enduring Brands ever decades with celebrated and awarded products bases in Kolkata and having all India Branches and Distribution networks, looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to lead the procurement function, responsible for all direct and indirect material and services. The ideal candidate will develop and execute a strategic procurement roadmap, ensuring smooth operations while optimizing costs and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee procurement of raw materials, commodities, finished products, components, CAPEX items, and services.

- Identify and manage suppliers, both domestically and internationally, including developing alternate supplier bases.

- Manage the end-to-end procure-to-pay cycle, including validation of business requirements, commercial negotiations (RFQs/Auctions), and ensuring timely delivery of agreed quality and specifications.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify specifications and expectations.

- Track key metrics to optimize spending, re-negotiate contracts, and assess supplier performance.

- Analyze market trends and identify risks in the supplier network, preparing control strategies and performing risk management for contracts.

- Develop and implement localization projects to ensure cost-effective sourcing options.

- Ensure quality control and assurance across all procurement activities.

- Build and fine-tune procurement processes, especially for indirect spending, within the SAP Ariba environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.

- MSc or MBA in Procurement, Material Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.

- A minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement, with 5+ years heading the procurement function for a company with a turnover of - 800-1000 crore.

- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with knowledge of costing and tax implications.

- Proven track record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, with accountability as a key success metric.

- Experience in leveraging technology for automation and digitization of procurement processes.
