Job Description : To be overall responsible for the India procurement of Raw Materials, Packing Materials, and Capital Items and Traded goods with defined timelines and rates. Full accountability for the negotiations to have the optimal cost and quality. Strive for engaging Transporter & Freight Agency for fastest delivery at reduced cost. Ensure the support for regional and global category management process.

Client Details :

Our client is one of the global chemical giants with core competence in specialty chemicals and performance materials. They have aggressive growth plans for India and hold a stellar market share within their line of products and services. They are looking for a Head of Procurement based out of corporate office for the India business.

Description :

Reporting to the India Head, the key accountabilities will be :

- Identifying and removing potential barriers to success.

- Initiating and supporting the Sourcing Strategy in alignment with Regional and Global Procurement

- Ensuring the implementation and tracking of the achieved results.

- Take ownership for individual Procurement targets on a local and/or regional level

- Align internal local decision makers through focused communication

- Ensures that all local requirements are coordinated with the regional strategy and communicated accordingly.

- Manages the Procurement department in order to maintain best in class workforce, motivation and development of technical and social skills.

- Define and monitor efficiency, effectiveness and success of the local Procurement activities using adequate controlling tools

- Implements a local Procurement strategy based on overall Procurement strategy.

- Provide business excellence, collaborate with and provide consultation to business units and general management of countries to support the reduction of total cost of ownership.

- Establish appropriate guidelines, policy and governance across the local organization based on the Global Procurement Manual.

- Improve local Procurement systems to enhance efficiency, compliance and processes.

Profile :

- Ideally 12-15 years of experience in the Chemical industry coupled with strong familiarity with understanding the product chemistry.
