Job Responsibilities:
Employee Relations and Environment Management:
Sound knowledge of Factory Act; other related IR Acts and statutory compliances
- Ensure all statutory and legal compliance in the factory are in place
- Compliance with all work norms and work practices for workmen as per established Standard Operating Procedures as well as the law
- Pro-actively handle & manage the industrial relations scenario ensuring a peaceful and harmonious working environment with the objective of maintaining a no union situation
- Maintain employee discipline in compliance with the legal procedures
- Ensure implementation of all HR systems and policies in the factory
- Maintain cordial relations with the government authorities, labor commissioner, courts, police, local officials and other statutory bodies
- Proactively engage with key officials and build a positive equity for the organization
Manpower Planning and Recruitment:
- Develop a manpower strategy to ensure quality hiring for the factory
- Develop descriptions for all jobs and ensure hiring as per the capabilities required
- Tie-up with relevant educational institutions to ensure regular supply of skilled workforce
- Partner with institutions to develop the skill sets appropriate for our requirements. Responsible for all the funds earmarked for the said purpose
Performance Management:
- Timely KRA setting, aligned with the business goals for all staff and workers in the factory
- Drive understanding of competencies among the staff
- Driving appraisals in the factory and ensure appropriate differentiation and distribution between different performance levels
- Manage severance of underperforming employees
Capability Building:
- Conduct a comprehensive training need analysis by identifying the gaps and suggest interventions to bridge the same
- Draw-up training plan for all workmen / employees along with the functional managers and ensure its implementation
- Scientifically evaluate the training interventions with a view to increase their effectiveness and efficiencies
OD Interventions:
- Develop and manage all aspects of people motivation, Reward & Recognition etc.
- Create and deploy interventions for increasing people involvement in operations with a view to increase their engagement leading to higher productivity and efficiencies
- Help and facilitate implementation of key programmes like ISO, HACCP, Safety etc.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Develop a grade structure in line with the plant business needs as well as the plant organization structure
- Develop a merit incentive policy in line with the company policy
- Ensure internal parity and external competitiveness
- Ensure error free calculation & smooth disbursement of wages; Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Design & maintain salary and pay ranges for various levels
- Develop & ensure proper implementation of incentive system in line with company policy of pay for performance
- Conduct regular Compensation Surveys to ensure competitive positioning with regards to the market.
Contract Staff Strategy & Management:
- Develop a contract staff strategy with a view to optimally utilize as well as put mechanism in place in line with the law to ensure their identity remains distinct from the company
- Management of the contract staff to ensure zero downtime or work stoppage
- Develop strategies to ensure regular supply of skilled manpower through appropriate agencies
Community Building:
- Lead and drive the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to build the neighboring community in the area
- Ensure active participation of employees in CSR activities
- Monitor and manage AOF funds allocated for optimum utilization
- Develop a CSR strategy in conjunction with Head Office for social upliftment of the area as well as building high reputation for the organization
Internal Communication:
- Effectively design and implement communication packages for employees in the factory
Factory HR Budget:
- To prepare and monitor Factory HR budget.
Administration Management:
- Responsible for security & administration of Employee facilities like canteen, safety standards, transportation
- To ensure smooth functioning of the Time office and ensure adherence by all employees
- Responsible for HRIS administration and maintenance
- Emergency Management & Crisis resolution
