Head - Placements & Partnerships with a premier law school
Management :
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for placements and partnerships in close collaboration with the Dean.
- Manage the Careers Team and all activities of the department to ensure career activities are aligned.
- Supervise departmental recruiting activities.
- Develop professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni and industry professionals.
- Provide direction, programming, and goals that strategically integrate all aspects of career development, career exploration, internships, job placement and career planning.
- Work closely with Internal and External stakeholders ensuring communication on all activities.
Career Counselling and Coaching :
- Provide career counselling services to students seeking internship opportunities or permanent employment.
- Provide one-on-one advising, workshops, and seminars about strategies for job search including self-assessment, exploration, decision-making, job search skills and self-directed job search strategies for students and alumni
Industry, Alumni and Corporate Relations :
- Work in collaboration with Program Directors, faculty and alumni to develop new leads for internships, job shadowing and full-time positions.
- Conduct targeted employer outreach by program.
- Develop and maintain employer relations and serves as a contact for industry partners and prospective employers, to assist in placement and career drives for candidates.
- Maintain employer database for internships and full- and parttime positions.
Preferred Qualifications :
- 12 + Years of experience with career advising and placement in higher educational setting, experience in legal education set-ups preferred.
- Postgraduate degree from a reputed organization
- Strong knowledge and experience with career coaching, for a diverse multicultural audience
- Proven ability to plan and successfully lead a team.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Well informed of market trends, employer needs and best practices in career services
- Ability to manage multiple partner relationships.
- Experience working with and mentoring young people, facilitating workshops and learning journeys would be preferred. Willing to travel
- Understanding of Indian Higher Education landscape and related policies
- Demonstrated ability to present to and converse with senior.
- stakeholders, including frequent discussions with the Board of Governors of an organization.
- Background or interest in law, legal practice, corporate law would be a plus
