Position Summary :
The Head - Payroll is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and administration for the entire organization. The Head Payroll ensures that all employees are paid accurately and on time, while also maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll policies and procedures, as well as the ability to manage and develop a team of payroll professionals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in multiple locations.
- Experience in managing employees allowances and benefits such as insurance, pension schemes, meal vouchers, etc.
- Working knowledge in HRMS like SAP SuccessFactors
- Oversee the administration of all payroll-related functions, including payroll processing, tax compliance, and employee recordkeeping by the payroll partner.
- Reconciliation of payroll records (e.g., payments, deductions, general ledger entries for wages, tax reconciliation)
- Maintain and update payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Manage the relationship with external payroll service providers, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of services.
- Partner with HR and other departments to ensure payroll data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain reports and metrics to track payroll performance and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll-related issues.
- Serve as a liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement new payroll-related systems and processes.
Requirements :
- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in payroll processing and administration, with a minimum of 4 years in a lead payroll role.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.
- Experience managing large payroll teams across multiple locations.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in SAP payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
The incumbent plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, while also ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
