Payroll Strategy & Leadership:

- Develop and implement payroll strategies that align with the company's overall objectives.

- Provide leadership to the payroll team, ensuring smooth payroll operations and continuous process improvements.

- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to align payroll with broader business goals.

Payroll Processing & Compliance:

- Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees (salaried, hourly, and contract staff).

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national payroll regulations, including tax laws, wage laws, and other statutory requirements.

- Implement controls to ensure the integrity of payroll information and compliance with legal requirements.

System Management & Automation:

- Evaluate and oversee the use of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP), ensuring they are optimized for accuracy and efficiency.

- Lead automation initiatives to streamline payroll processes and improve data accuracy.

Audit & Reporting:

- Ensure payroll records are up-to-date and properly maintained to facilitate internal and external audits.

- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on payroll data for management, HR, and finance teams.

- Lead payroll audits, ensuring all processes meet compliance standards and identify any discrepancies or issues.

Employee Relations & Support:

- Address employee payroll queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

- Educate employees on payroll-related matters such as benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings.

- Manage payroll communications and ensure transparency in payroll policies and practices.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Collaborate with the finance team to develop payroll budgets and forecasts.

- Track payroll expenses against the budget, identify any variances, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Team Management & Development:

- Manage, mentor, and develop a payroll team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development.

- Set performance goals for the payroll department and monitor team performance against those goals.

Tax Filings & Compliance Management:

- Ensure the correct filing of payroll taxes and other deductions, including social security, health benefits, and pension contributions.

- Work closely with the tax department to ensure proper tax documentation and reporting.

Global Payroll (if applicable):

- Oversee payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring global compliance and standardization.

- Coordinate with international offices to manage global payroll processes and address country-specific requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Work with HR, finance, and legal departments to ensure payroll strategies support broader company policies (such as compensation, benefits, and employment contracts).

- Act as the primary liaison with external partners, including payroll service providers, auditors, and tax authorities.
