Job Title: Head of Payments Data Operations

Role Context & Purpose:

An on premise big data solution (Hadoop) has been developed and is being leveraged to support a data operations, data analytics, data quality management and data distribution capability. Originally designed to support financial crime risk management, focus is expanding to cover commercialisation and optimisation opportunities both internally and externally. A strategic operating model has been designed to support this growth in demand, the requirements for new, more advanced skills and domain expertise and the transition to and adoption of new technologies such as cloud.

Role Purpose:

A senior data professional to support the Payment's CDO in all aspects of building, running and governing solutions in support of the Group's payments data requirements.

Principal Accountabilities:

- Establish data as an operational service within Payment Operations

- Manage relevant risks and apply necessary controls to protect the bank's data

- Develop a highly skilled team supporting operations, analytics and data quality management

- Day to day management of the payments data operations function

- Internal customer engagement and stakeholder management

- Self-service implementation and administration

- Data quality management to identify, report, assign and track issues through to remediation

- Design and fulfilment of simple and complex data requests

- Data discovery and consumable data set knowledge base creation

- Representing Payments Data function in relevant forums

- Subject matter expertise in payments data

Experience:

- Excellent Payments and payments flow subject matter expertise

- Excellent data domain knowledge and understanding of the data life cycle

- Experience in the principles and implementation of data management and governance

- Demonstrable success / experience in using data to drive commercial and optimisation benefits

- Experience in big data and relevant technologies, e.g. Hadoop / Cloud

- Experience working with the key payment infrastructures / technologies e.g. GPS, SWIFT etc.

- Experience working with Technology, Operations and Change functions

- Experience working with external vendors

- Excellent understanding of the use of Payments data in financial crime risk management

- Role relevant qualifications, e.g. a degree

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
