Job Designation: Head of Operations

Number of Position(s): 1

Qualification: B.E. Mechanical (Mandatory) + MBA operation (preferable)

Experience: 18-20 years, of which the incumbent should have at least 3 years work experience in heading manufacturing operations.

Industry: Capital Equipment (preferably Pharma Machinery)

The Role: Impact & Contribution

He will be responsible for the overall Manufacturing, plant operations and maintenance of the business. He / she will have to establish plant policies and procedures and will be responsible for the plant manufacturing goals.

Job Responsibilities :

- Establish plant policies and procedures.

- Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations within the laid down policies and procedures.

- Achieve machine-wise manufacturing goals.

- Ensure OTDIF (on-time delivery in full), FTR (first time right) and DOH (days on hand inventory) matrices are achieved.

- Develop strategies to reduce manufacturing cycle times and costs

- Maintain 5-S across the plant

- Lay down safety procedures and ensure it is complied with in to-to

- Ensure employee discipline within the plant.

- Training, multi-skilling & development of all manufacturing related employees (technicians, supervisory, managerial) within the business unit.

- Confer with other department heads within the BU to ensure coordination of procurement, FAT's, commercial clearances and dispatches.

- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower resources

- Adopt best practices from across the industry and share improvements across other SBU's of COMPANY.

- Develop strategies to reduce manufacturing cycle times & costs and reduces wastages.

- In-charge of the overall Procurement & Stores

- Developing and updating procurement systems and policies

- Ensuring compliance to the existing procurement policies

- Plan for inventory levels (strategic) to be maintained and ensure targeted DOH (days on hand inventory) level is maintained.

- Adopt best practices from across the industry

Key Competencies Required :

Technical :

- Technically competent and proficient at understanding machines

- Well versed with productivity & quality improvement concepts like TQM, TPM,Kaizen, Six Sigma etc.

- Strong Business Acumen

- Excellent written & verbal communication skills

- Solid working knowledge of MS office applications and should be well versed with the SAP MM & PP module.
