Head Operations

- Lead operations teams in India to deliver effective HR, finance and administration, procurement, legal, and business support to the organisation

- Review and improve internal financial and administrative systems with a focus on function quality, systematic risk management and organisation stability

- Ensure regular review and proactive planning of financial spends, forecasts and budgets

- Ensure that procurement policies and practices in India are reflective of donor and the organisation requirements and Indian laws, working with the finance and procurement teams

- Increase operational efficiency by improving communication and collaboration between support teams, establishing consistent effective management planning and reporting and reducing duplication of effort

- Ensure the contingency plans, business continuity plans and emergency phone tree and any other necessary safety and security measures are up-to-date, through liaison with the organisation's High Risk team

- Ensure that office safety checks, including fire drills, office inspections, first aid training, are conducted regularly

- Work with the HR Advisor in country and Country Director, as required, to design and deliver resourcing plans, ensuring compliance with local labour law and HR policy

- Contribute to the development of new business by working conceptually and strategically with the Manager Programme Strategy, enabling systems and process which stimulate innovative thinking and drawing on their experience, developing initiatives and implementing long-term strategies

- Work closely with project directors/ managers, and other team leads, to ensure streamlined work processes and the implementation of a standardized work plan process

- Support project directors and managers on all legal liaison with legal team

- Working closely with the Director for Business Services and the internal auditors, lead on legal, compliance and structural issues
