Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Modern Trade for a leading FMCG/Beverages company to lead our modern trade sales team and drive the development and execution of sales strategies for modern trade channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounts, building strong relationships with modern trade partners, and driving sales growth in this important sales channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies and plans for modern trade channels to achieve sales targets and business objectives
- Lead the modern trade sales team in managing key accounts, building relationships with key decision-makers, and driving sales growth
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with modern trade partners, negotiating terms and agreements to maximize sales opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for modern trade sales initiatives
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and innovation in modern trade channels
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous optimization of sales strategies
- Manage the modern trade sales budget, allocate resources effectively, and optimize sales spend to maximize ROI
- Lead and develop a team of modern trade sales professionals, providing guidance and support to drive performance and career development
- Stay current on industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices in modern trade sales to drive continuous improvement and innovation in sales strategies
Qualifications:
- Good MBA or in related field
- 8-15 years of experience in modern trade sales
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies for modern trade channels
- Strong knowledge of modern trade sales processes, key account management, and negotiation skills
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to drive sales decisions
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing and mentoring sales professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
