[Company Name] is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Modern Trade to spearhead our consumer durables division, focusing on wearables and audio segments in the electronics industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in modern trade across pan-India markets, with a proven track record spanning 13-17 years. This role presents an exciting opportunity to drive sales growth, expand market presence, and establish strong relationships with key retail partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales and achieve revenue targets within the modern trade channel for consumer durables, wearables, and audio segments.
- Lead a dedicated team of modern trade sales professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to optimize performance and exceed sales objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade accounts, including national retail chains, hypermarkets, and large format stores, to secure favorable placement and promotional opportunities.
- Negotiate terms, contracts, and agreements with modern trade partners to maximize profitability and ensure compliance with company policies and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain, to align sales strategies with overall business goals and market trends.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and consumer trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the modern trade channel.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting the modern trade channel, and share insights with internal stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote brand awareness and strengthen relationships with modern trade partners.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field;
- Proven track record of 13-17 years in modern trade sales roles within the consumer durables industry, with a focus on wearables and audio segments.
- Extensive network and relationships with key modern trade accounts across pan-India markets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate sales teams to achieve ambitious targets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
- Willingness to travel as required.
