Job Description:
The Head Merchandising will spearhead our Merchandising & Sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with Organisations standards and Market Trends. This pivotal role combines strategic oversight with operational execution to curate high-quality luxury materials, foster strong supplier relationships, and deliver outstanding product ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for materials, ensuring premium quality and sustainability.
- Identify and negotiate with global and local suppliers to secure exclusive, high-quality fabrics at competitive terms.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors, mills, and artisans in the luxury textile market.
Merchandising Leadership:- Lead the end-to-end merchandising process, including product development, range planning, and lifecycle management.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to inform product offerings.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to align collections with brand identity and seasonal trends.
Operational Excellence:- Oversee procurement timelines, inventory levels, and cost efficiencies to meet financial and operational targets.
- Ensure compliance with ethical and sustainable sourcing practices, adhering to global luxury standards.
- Monitor Supply Chain performance and address any disruptions proactively.
Team Management:- Lead, mentor, and inspire the sourcing and merchandising teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the department.
Educational Qualifications & Work Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred) with minimum 15+ years experience into Merchandising in Textile / Garments / Carpets / Rugs Manufacturing.
- Proven track record in sourcing and merchandising luxury clothing materials, with global supplier network expertise.
- Strong understanding of luxury market dynamics, customer expectations, and emerging trends.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
