Position Overview :
As the Head Merchandiser for our fashion designer brand, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the success of our brand by overseeing key aspects of the business. Your responsibilities will encompass trend analysis, market research, procurement, sales and inventory management, eCommerce, range planning, and pricing strategies. You will lead a team of merchandisers and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet market demand and align with our brand's vision.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Trend Analysis:
- Monitor fashion trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
- Translate trend insights into actionable strategies for product development and marketing.
2. Market Research:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to understand customer demographics, behavior, and competitive landscape.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for product assortment and positioning.
3. Procurement:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and products.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
4. Sales and Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales forecasts and targets.
- Implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize overstock, and reduce carrying costs.
5. Ecommerce:
- Oversee the eCommerce operations, ensuring a seamless online shopping experience for customers.
- Analyze eCommerce data and make data-driven decisions to enhance the online shopping journey.
6. Range Planning:
- Work with design and production teams to create seasonal product ranges.
- Ensure the alignment of product ranges with market trends, brand identity, and customer preferences.
7. Pricing:
- Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
- Regularly review and adjust pricing based on market dynamics and performance analysis.
8. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of merchandisers, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in merchandising, preferably in the fashion industry, with a minimum of [X] years in a leadership role.
