Position: Head Engineering - Steel Plant

Location: Kolkata

Emolument and other Benefits : 36 to 60 LPA (negotiable for the deserving candidate)

1. Qualification: B.E/M.E or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from any reputed Engineering College in India or in abroad. Additional Management Degree is preferred. Expertise in Autocad is must. Experience in Staad-pro, Autodesk Inventor, PV Elite, Ansys Mechanical, etc. are preferred.

2. Additional basic experience in Instrumentation, Functional Logic, Automation, Load Analysis and Selection of Structural Members, Preparation of Civil Assignment drawing. Should be acquainted with related Engineering and other Standards like: IS, DIN, JIS, ASTM, ASME, ANSI, BS, IPSS, IBR, CPCB.

3. Job Responsibility: Will take the responsibility of "Head of Engineering" for the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Utility Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Structural Engineering, Process Engineering and Metallurgy in the area of Steel Plant both in Upstream and Downstream.

4. Area of Expertise: The incumbent must have expertise in mechanical engineering (Basic & Detailed) of the following area in Steel Plant.

- Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) Converter including primary and secondary dedusting.

- Electric overhead traveling crane (EOT)

- Continuous Casting Machines (CCM)

- Hot Rolling / Cold Rolling Mills

- Additional experience in CAL, CGL, CCL, ACL, TCM, PPPL are preferred.

- Hot Metal Desulphurization (HMDS)

- Vacuum Degassing Plant (with all its variations)

- RHOB

- Ladles and Ladle Car

- Ladle Furnace

- Torpedo Cars

- Arc Furnace / Energy Efficient Arc Furnace

5. Detailed Experience: Working experience of 25 plus years in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Supervision during Manufacturing, Erection and Commissioning of Steel Plant Facilities, and its associated Equipment. Knowledge in Fabrication and Machine shops. She/He should have experience in the following activities for the facilities and Equipment as covered under above Sections.

- Development of Plant Layouts

- Design Calculations

- Basic Engineering Drawings

- Detailed Engineering Drawings

- Development of Specification sheet

- Review of Vendor's drawings / specification sheet

- Preparation of Technical Proposal as support to Sales Team

- Attending technical meetings with Client / Consultant

- Scheduling of all Engineering Deliverables

- Supervision work during manufacturing, erection of equipment and commissioning.

6. Management Skills: Experience in managing the entire team of engineers across the discipline, delivering all engineering deliverables as per the Schedule. An excellent verbal and written communication skill is prerequisite for this position.
