Head of Department - Marketing
The Head of Marketing will be in charge of leading our organisation's marketing efforts. As a successful hire, he/she will be responsible for providing guidance to our marketing team by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating these plans to those involved and managing the relevant budgets for marketing and communications spending. Ultimately, you will run our Marketing department in ways that promote higher profitability and competitiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy Building: Crafting strategies for all marketing teams, including Design, Digital, Advertising, Communications and Creative. To develop pricing strategies in accordance with the management and involved departments that will help us maximise profits.
- Research and Development: Researching demand for our products and services. Analyze consumer behavior and determine customer personas. Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
- Competition: Undertake competitor research and monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features)
- Finances: Preparing and managing monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the Marketing department, including expenditures, research and development appropriations, return on investment and profit-loss projections.
- Branding: Building brand awareness and positioning. Overseeing social media marketing strategy and content marketing. Make sure that the businesses marketing communications promote the right message to maintain a good brand image.
- Manpower Planning and operations: Craft quarterly and annual hiring plans with the HR head as per the future requirements of the organization. To develop appraisal system and execute it efficiently within the department.
Skills: - Leadership and influencing skills: This is a creative role allowing plenty of latitude. So you need to be a clear thinker and good communicator. You will often report directly to the chief executive and have to justify your ideas to the executive team. You will also be leading and directing the work of others. Being Head of Marketing also involves constant networking and representing your organization to outsiders.
- Management skills: You will have to oversee the marketing department and guide its dayto-day operations. This means recruiting, supervising and mentoring members of the marketing team. People management skills are a major part of the job. High competency in stakeholder and project management is a huge advantage. Highly professional while dealing with all the employees in the organization.
- Analytical skills: The role calls for the continual analysis of market trends and the positioning of competitors. This analysis provides the foundation for marketing strategies. Nowadays much of this analysis is done by drilling down into data around customer behavior and experiences. So you need to be up to speed on these techniques.
Requirements:
- B.SC in Marketing, BMS or any relevant graduation. MBA or Masters in Marketing will be preferred.
- 2-4 years of progressive leadership experience in Marketing positions.
- Excellent experience in managing a large team at a more senior level, which demonstrates their ability to administer a team effectively.
- Solid knowledge of Google Adwords, Facebook Manager, etc.
