Reporting to: AVP Legal

Qualification:

- Candidate should be qualified LLB with over 12+ years of work experience in Trademark - IPR Law Firms/ FMCG / Beverages or from Manufacturing Industry if having Exposure with Fssai codes in past.

- Handling various high stake Trademark - Intellectual Property Rights issues

- Handling company's Trademark - Intellectual Property Rights as major & hardcore job responsibility.

Job Responsibility:-

The Head of IP reports to the AVP Legal and manages IP professionals, including patent and trademark attorneys and paralegals. The Head of IP is responsible for advising senior management about opportunities and risks in all areas of IP, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, designs, etc. The Head of IP works with other senior management to set IP strategies for the Group and its Brand Divisions and then implements these IP strategies by managing the IP Department's efficient execution of IP procedures.

Skills and Capabilities

- A thorough knowledge of patent and trademark law in the main IP jurisdictions.

- Up-to-date knowledge of IP strategies, trends, developments, and practices and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about IP rights management.

Essential Duties:

- Advising managers on IP issues generally.

- Establishing IP strategies (including patent and trademark procurement and enforcement strategies, as well as infringement avoidance strategies) for the Group as a whole and for the individual Brand Divisions and product categories.

- Identifying and documenting valuable IP created within the Group.

- Working with stakeholders to decide when and how to protect identified IP.

- Procuring IP rights by filing and prosecuting patent, design, and trademark applications globally.

- Maintaining patent, design, and trademark portfolios globally, including identifying IP rights in the portfolio that have low value to the Group and should no longer be maintained.

- Defending against challenges to the validity or scope of the Group's IP rights.

- Developing, evaluating, and improving processes, systems, and other tools for executing the Group's IP strategy globally.

- Managing a team of IP professionals and staff, including defining goals and responsibilities, developing and monitoring key performance indicators or other systems for evaluating performance, and providing feedback and mentoring.

- Setting forward-thinking IP strategies and identifying IP focus areas.

- Monitoring and guiding patent, design, and trademark filing and prosecution globally to make sure it is consistent with established IP strategies and focus areas.

- Negotiating and drafting patent licenses.
