I Objective of Job
- Ensure compliance with and protection of Company’s within the framework of all applicable and relevant legislation/enactments in India
- Ensure effective and smooth organization of BoD meetings / AGMs / EGMs.
II Main Accountabilities (duties and responsibilities)
Task description
- Oversee, facilitate and report on compliance activities and prepare compliance performance reports (monthly/quarterly/annually) for CCO/N, local entity Head and CFO
- Conduct Compliance Risk Assessments for local business unit, analyze compliance issues and trends and provide summary to CCO/N
- Identify ‘training needs’ with support of local HR, liaise with CCO/N and ensure that all relevant/key employees are trained.
- Identify and report compliance issue to CCO organisation(CCD/BPO)
- Overall ‘legal compliance’ the company
- Strike balance between legal and commercial/business needs
- Sustained success in defending legal suits at optimum legal costs
- Ensure effective and smooth organization of secretarial function, filing of all necessary documents with respective government authorities
(A) Communication and leadership
- Independent advise/consultation on legal and compliance related issues/matters, on proactive basis as Head Legal as well as on specific issues/advice being sought out
- Above refers to matters /issues relating to:
- dealers /Legal / suits / complaints / probable legal non- compliance / non-compliance under FCPA / CCR/ Brand Protections
- in-house legal counsel to all Business units
- monthly control execution
- various compliance projects
Note - Preferred profiles from Banking Sector and Experience in Legal and company secretary is Must at Management level.
