Reporting to CEO/COO
- Develops and leads company's legal strategy to promote and protect the business interests.
- Responsible for implementing key legal processes that relate to legal drafting, negotiations, and commercial settlement agreements; including compliance framework.
- Will instruct and assist external legal partners where necessary for successful resolution of the on-going litigations and issues at various forums.
- Provide strategic and operational guidance to the business's senior leadership on all legal matters, aiding them in the management of litigation issues such as contract disputes and product liability
- Closely work with departmental leadership and key stakeholders across the business in overseeing and ensuring overall legal compliance across the business, by maintaining the business' integrity both internally and externally (reputational risk).
- Renders effective legal assistance in the preparation of legal opinions, studies, reports and correspondence, as required from time to time by various Heads of Departments.
- Ensures that there are efficient systems in place relating to compliance of high impact policies such as anti-bribery and corruption, financial transaction compliance
- Oversees delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish organizational goals, strategies and priorities.
- Effectively liaisons and engages with the relevant statutory bodies and provide proactive, in-depth, legal, business-focused advice to the business leadership on legal aspects on a variety of issues.
Ideal Candidate
- Smart, enterprising, innovative and confident Law Graduates having exposure to global best practices in natural resources sector (across Oil & Gas and Metal & Mining) or in large manufacturing setup -with 15 -20 years' solid experience in Corporate Legal Environment.
- Additional qualification in Corporate Law/CS and fluency (Verbal & Written) in Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Should be willing to work out of Tuticorin - Tamil Nadu
- Should have extensive experience taking up challenges and experienced in reporting to CEO/COO level
