Job Description - Head IT Infrastructure & IT Operations
1. Infrastructure operations
a. Providing direction and managing the entire IT Operations related with Data Center in AL through: i. Planning, implementing, operating and maintaining Data center(s) and End user service operations across the organization to ensure maximum availability of all IT services and identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings and service quality improvement
ii. To strategize and transform the I/O organization from a traditional and hierarchical model to a more resilient team to meet evolving digital business needs that are driven by adoption of AI, Blockchain, RPA and Cloud
iii. To facilitate and build a platform that supports the quickly accelerating digitalization initiatives, such as WFH capabilities, adoption AI, deployment of mobile applications, etc.,
iv. Guides team in the review & development of SOPs for all aspects of IT Infrastructure management on a constant basis and helps in determining the IT operations governance process and defining work in establishing efficient workflows (Business Process Re-engineering)
b. Designing and supporting the implementation of various new initiatives and drive adoption of Digital workplace within the organization and group entities
c. Vendor Management: Responsible for sourcing, procurement and vendor management (vendor evaluation) by defining clear policies, processes and establishing strict governance in ensuring that desired services are delivered as per agreed SLA's. In addition to managing vendors, performance, risk analysis the role is responsible in monitoring the contract terms and deliverables. The contract management is selectively applied on large or high value deals like contracts with SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Dassault Systems, Google, Amazon Web services etc.
d. License Management: Manage, control and protect all IT software assets throughout their lifecycle. The role is responsible to ensure that the business complies with every relevant software license and used as per the end user license agreement (EULA).
2. Security Operations
a. Implementation and management of various security controls
b. Providing oversight and highlighting the security risks across the organization to the CIO and SRM (Security Risk Management) team
c. Support SRM leaders in instituting quarterly scenario planning workshops to identify key security threats indicators that will necessitate major changes in security strategy and roadmap
d. Despite higher levels of awareness regarding cybersecurity risk, the IO is responsible in initiating new security projects and to effectively communicate the benefits and importance
3. Budget Control :
a. Identify and implement cost management initiatives and prepare for long-term value optimization
b. Minimize disruption to normal business operations and mitigate other cost-management related risks
An Infra & Ops leader needs to drive change, not just absorb change. Bold actions are needed to redefine value proposition to one of innovation by building more agile platforms, stabilized Infra environment with round the clock availability and build the team with forward-filling skills necessary for infrastructure-led innovation opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure service continuity of business-critical applications like SAP, Email services, PLM application by regular monitoring, patching, housekeeping there by eliminating single point of failure and also responsible to have a robust DR setup
- Provisioning and managing the IT asset availability to end users. Establishing connectivity between all AL offices and continuously monitor the utilization of various WAN links and keep upgrading as needed based on the usage.
- To manage the entire IT asset procurement, WAN management, software procurement etc., within the approved budgets by constantly evaluating the requirement vs business demands and ensure optimal value proposition
- Identify and evaluate technology service providers/vendors for supply of various IT products. Negotiation with proper RFP/RFQ process, define SLA's, payment terms, deliverable timelines to provide best value services to AL
- To attain maximum percentage of deployment to the endpoints in Anti-Virus, Endpoint security patches, Operating system updates, also to monitor and control IT Asset life cycle management using tools like ITAM
- Recommend the latest and relevant technologies by initiating various new IT projects as per the business demand to meet the growing Digital transformation
- Ability to navigate good interactions with colleagues and business users and promote an environment for the team to collaboration and sharing ideas, contributing to a common cause and helping co-workers to achieve success in their respective Job.
- Involves responsibility in providing opportunities to excel, guidance, leadership, support & motivation to the entire team in fulfilling their functional objectives and at same time building up a platform for the team to learn and to enhance their career.
Educational qualifications -
- Engineering degree from a reputed college in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science or Electronics and Communication with 4 to 6 years of experience at Senior level in managing complex IT Infra landscape.
- ITIL certifications or any other specialization courses in the field of Computers will be an added advantage
Relevant experience:
- BE, MBA graduate with Overall 22+ years of experience in the field of IT
- 14+ years of IT Management experience in Large Enterprises.
- 3+ years of Global experience of driving Digital projects
- Similar role in other Auto Industry
- Behavioral competencies with regard to critical thinking, command over communication and strong interpersonal skills.
