Head - International Affairs(For a Deemed to be University in Mangalore)
Primary responsibilities:
- Defining the Vision and Roadmap for the Directorate of International Affairs
- Defining the vision and preparing a roadmap for the Directorate of International Affairs, with detailed plans and metrics for tracking, consistent with University's vision
- Acting as principal advisor to University Management on all aspects of development of international relations, such as brand building, strategic partnerships, policy making, and budget planning, among others
- Identifying emerging opportunities for the University to develop international peer-to-peer academic and government partnerships that help address global challenges and attract the best global talent
- Building University's Brand Globally
- Promoting University in international forums and establishing the university as a preferred destination for international students and faculty, and a preferred partner for International Universities
- Building University's brand globally and maximizing global presence by leveraging networking opportunities, representing the university in external forums, conducting promotional campaigns, and contributing to building a positive image of the university
- Promoting International Talent Mobility
- Developing and continuously improving policies and processes to attract international students and global faculty to University
- Generating a steady pool of international students and faculty by utilizing government schemes (like Study in India) and by developing working relationships with overseas agents and search firms in source countries
- Building and nurturing a support ecosystem including visa assistance, orientation, and other on campus requirements to facilitate talent mobility and ensure a positive experience for both students and faculty
- Strengthening Academic and Research Focused International Partnerships for University
- Identifying and suggesting models for collaborating with leading foreign Universities and forging long term partnerships on academics and research including Joint/ Dual degree/ Twinning Programs, as well as Exchange Programs (both students and faculty)
- Liaising with partner organizations in different countries to identify and build opportunities
- Building Resources and Capabilities
- Identifying the right talent, building, and driving a capable team to execute University's international strategy and achieve desired outcomes
- Developing Strong Internal Working Relationships
- Working together with Heads of different institutions, and administrative functions of University and encouraging university wide involvement in achieving global standards to improve global perception
- Financial Responsibility
- Planning, managing, and monitoring revenue generation and contribution from the international affairs office and ensuring proper utilization of the budget
