Job Title: Head of Institutional Business

Location: Mumbai

Reports to: Managing Director and Board of Directors

Position Summary:

Head of Institutional Business shall support the Company’s Managing Director and Board of Directors focusing on setup, scale up and driving growth of the Institutional Business with a specific focus on selling Indian Equities to Institutional client base in India and globally.

Functions/Responsibilities:

1. Organizational Responsibilities

a. Develop, establish and execution of organizational policies to support overall company policies and objectives.

b. Direct short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.

c. Think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan.

d. Set operational and / or performance goals for each department which are aggressive, achievable and tied to long-term goals.

e. Monitor department performance against performance goals to ensure that progress is being made.

f. Ensure quality control of all company activities as pertains to customer acquisition and delivery of services.

2. Specific Responsibilities – Institutional Business [Includes but not limited to]

a. Client Acquisition - Identifying substantial leads, developing Institutional Client relationships and Empanelling new clients

b. Servicing Clients and client retention – Retain and increase existing assets, identifying, managing and monitoring customer profiles, risk appetite and preferences

c. Revenue generation responsibility and maintaining the profitability of the business

d. Research: Must have deep understanding of fundamental research for coordinating with research team for identifying and marketing investment and trading ideas to clients

e. Cross-selling the company’s full range of financial services and products

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. The candidate should be qualified, preferably a CA/MBA/PGDM.

2. Experience of minimum 6-8 years in Institutional Equities.

3. Established past record of acquiring new institutional clients and have existing relationships across asset management companies, insurance companies and foreign funds

4. Exceptional knowledge of professional and institutional trading

5. Should have strong networking and relationship building skills

6. Adequate knowledge of the Equity market and the dynamics of Broking business Functional Area

7. In-depth knowledge of the economic trends and events and their potential effect on customers’ assets

8. Superior sales skills, Customer Focused, Strong process understanding, Self-starter

9. Leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment.

10. Good communication and Presentation skills.
