Job Description:
- Lead and manage all industrial relations activities at our warehouse operations. The IR Head will be responsible for overseeing employee relations, labor law compliance, conflict resolution, and ensuring positive, productive relationships between management and warehouse staff.
- The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in navigating complex industrial relations issues within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, including the Factories Act, Shops & Establishment Act, Minimum Wages Act, and Overtime regulations.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to statutory obligations (e.g., PF, ESIC, LWF).
Industrial Relations (IR) & Local Authority Engagement:
- Manage relationships with labor commissioners, unions, political bodies, and local authorities.
- Address and resolve industrial disputes, strikes, and other IR issues.
- Work with legal teams to mitigate risks associated with labor court cases.
Contractor Management & Payroll Validation:
- Oversee contractor payroll processing, statutory deductions (PF, ESIC, PT), and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Validate contractor bills for payments and monitor adherence to OT, bonus, and leave encashment policies.
- Conduct contractor audits to ensure proper wage disbursement and compliance.
Workforce Planning & Optimization:
- Collaborate with operations for manpower forecasting, peak season planning, and shift optimization.
- Ensure compliance with working hour limits and weekly rest requirements.
- Implement biometric attendance and leave tracking systems for operational efficiency.
Employee Engagement & Retention:
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives (e.g., recognition programs, wellness activities, and grievance mechanisms).
- Create structured onboarding and induction programs for contract workers.
- Monitor and enhance employee retention strategies, focusing on contract worker satisfaction.
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience of minimum 10+ years in industrial relations or employee relations, preferably in a warehouse, logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, industrial relations practices, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and handling unionized workforce issues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle sensitive and complex issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
