Applicant should have relevant Plant level HR experience. (Preference for professionals coming from Power Industry background)

Desired profile

- Qualification: A graduate engineer (Preferable) with an excellent extracurricular record. This graduation qualification will be augmented by a degree or diploma in Human Resources Management from a leading institute like TISS / XLRI/Symbiosis Pune. Scholastic record in School Final Examination and Graduation should be with good first division

- 20 years of relevant experience with at least 10 years in a leadership role heading the HR/IR activities for a large engineering, construction or project management company. Exposure to Heavy Engineering (Boiler/ Turbines etc.) industry would be an added advantage.

- Age: 45-52 years

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Business Management

- Experienced in developing and implementing Human Resources Strategies including:

- establishing and managing a recruitment function

- significant organizational change

- Strategic inputs & alignment to the Business Plan

- Budget & Budgetary control

Leadership

- Demonstrate strong leadership and the application of good commercial skills. Prepared to challenge and question all levels where appropriate.

- Ensure HR systems and procedures enable the organization to achieve high

Performance and quality standards and recommending changes where appropriate.

- Lead the HR Team in delivering a high performance customer focused service to achieve the Organizations- objectives.

- Proven track record in the effective leadership of staff - inspiring, motivating,

Performance managing and developing.

- Work effectively under pressure and adaptable to rapid change.

- Use initiative to work independently or collaboratively as appropriate to develop ideas.

- Possess the authority, credibility and integrity to command respect at all levels including

External contacts.

- Facilitate uniform network of Plant HR Heads to share best practices.

- Build integrated leadership capability in all the plants.

- Customize HR practices / processes and develop capabilities to specific business needs that match global standards.

Performance Management:

- Strong performance management culture that reinforces the organization's required behaviors.

- Implementation of Performance Management System & other strategic HR initiatives

- A performance management culture

- Pay and reward strategies.

Learning & Development:

- Support Managers and Directors in setting learning and development budgets.

- Monitor expenditure with timely interventions on budgets where appropriate.

- Organize Personal Development Reviews for the Group.

- Arrange training provision, monitor effectiveness and take action as appropriate.

- Maintain accurate training records.

- Analyze and provide management information with recommendations.

Communication

- Experience in successfully leading employee and union consultation and engagement.

- Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization and with relevant external bodies.

- Translate change management principles into effective operational plans.

- Experience of negotiating with suppliers and management of external providers e.g. Training.

Talent Acquisition and Management

- Experience in International recruitments/ Global talent - Attract, retain the Talent.

- Focusing on retaining top talent

- Manage Flexi employee model (contract Labour/Temporary employees) as per Business requirements.

Facilities Management

Client has a huge complex in Hazira which houses the different Segments. This role would be responsible for managing the Facilities of the entire complex.

- Patient accumulation of professional accomplishments. Client believes that the implementation of significant HR initiatives takes 5 years and frequent job changes will deter this process.

- Developing a network and good contacts with the vendors of HR services.

- Excellent oral (public speaking) and written communication skills.

- Leadership gravitas and the ability to "earn" a seat on the leadership team as a respected member who has the all round capacity to contribute in business issues as much as presenting and leading discussions on strategic HR issues.

- A thought leader in HR circles even if the Circle of influence is restricted to a town/city where the individual is posted.

- Strong fundamental skills in handling industrial relations combining tact. patience, fair and firm character while being well conversant with Labour Laws.

- Ability to build a good HR team and demonstrate the ability to retain and attract young HR talent as a "good mentor" to work for.

- End to end implementation of HR processes that have good institutionalized and have sustained the challenges of good times and bad times

- High energy levels and persistence even when the chips were down while implementing an HR initiative.
