1. Synopsis of Role

The position is responsible to take the overall charge of all IR, statutory & worker welfare activities. Role includes Negotiations with employees, Wage settlement, Contract labor management & other IR related activities.

The role would also involve supporting the Operations by delivering high quality HRM services to enhance retention and facilitate employees to achieve consistently high levels of performance.

2. Essential Functions

- Responsible for evolving IR strategies for the manufacturing plant

- Would be responsible for HR and IR; responsible for Discipline, Statutory Compliance & Contract Labour Management, safety and security and smooth operation without IR problems & loss of production

- Identifies specific Plant employee relations needs & work with MD and Factory Head to plan, develop, and implement solutions

- Should be well informed up-to-date on changes to labour laws, arbitration decisions, court judgements and anything else that may affect labour-management relations.

- Formulates and administers labour relations policy, subject to management guidance and approval.

- Exposure in drafting of transparent Policies and Agreements.

- Liaison with various state and central government officials to maintain good relations with them.

- Responsible for identification, recruitment & Training of workmen/ Trainees for New plants.

- Educate workmen on advanced technology, change in the process for better productivity and safe practices.

3. Critical Skills and Job Complexity

- Should have 15+ years of experience in Industrial Relations in manufacturing setups Excellent Communication & Negotiations skills

- Extensive experience working in labor relations

- Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges, sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.

- Leadership capabilities and experience.

- Very strong execution and implementation skills, coupled with mainly tactical thinking skills.

- Strong functional skills in HR area of expertise, ability to resolve conflicts and build teams.
