Job Description :

- The objective of your role is to establish an extensive government affairs network across the South Asiaregion at various levels to advise on strategic business decisions, facilitate commercial activities and optimize incentives, focusing on Bangladesh.

Description :

- Work with the APAC leadership teams on the development and implementation of a government strategy and engagement plan, focusing on Bangladesh.

- Engage with government officers at different levels

- Continually assess and scan the regulatory, legislative, and policy environment. Effectively translate its impact to the Company and communicate internally for proactive organization preparedness

- Represent the Company in various industry forums. Actively participate and influence policy-related

matters that impact the company

- Advise on strategic investment options from a government policy context. Create a heat map of
opportunities emanating either from policy intervention or from existing applications. Rally different
business leaders and subject matter experts to engage and pursue these opportunities

- Work with business teams to strategize and assist in obtaining relevant approvals from government
authorities for business continuity at various sites in South Asia, focusing on Bangladesh

- Provides strategic support to the APAC leadership team on related business opportunities which

involve local government/authorities handling/coordination and managing potential risks

- Direct crisis management activities and recommend the appropriate action to minimize risk and impact on the company while dealing with issues and disputes with governmental institutions

Profile :

- More than 15 years of significant experience with multinational companies in the Asia Pacific region

including at least 10 years in government affairs/public affairs in Bangladesh

- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a focus on business development

- Post-graduation in business management is preferred

- Legal qualification and experience highly preferred

- Knowledge about various South Asian Government systems and hierarchies, with proven experience in finding compliant solutions in South Asia (specifically in Bangladesh). Experience in government

advocacy/lobbying, including developing policy positions, drafting submissions and letters

- A clear understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework and knowledge of international

trade, manufacturing, and/or economic issues

- Strong business acumen. Previous experience working for related industries is preferred

- Solid grasp of how political decisions influence public policy in South Asia, specifically in Bangladesh, potential risk/implication evaluation

- Demonstrated judgment in working through complex situations and providing solution-oriented advice
