Opportunities:
- The Jewellery industry in India is largely fragmented with family-owned small businesses contributing to the largest chunk. These businesses are largely skill-centric, with customer preference, trust and long-term relationships driving customer acquisition, retention, and sales.
- The more organized players in the industry have also built their brands on the foundation of faith, rather than distinctive design. However, they have not been able to acquire a significant market share, at a national level. Thus, the need to build a product offering focused on.
Role Profile:
1. Distinctive design and customization aligned to customer preferences is pronounced. The Organisation beliees that Jewellery is largely an unorganized market with only one national player. Hence there is a scope of another national player.
2. There is an opportunity to build a technology-enabled design-centric approach to blend into the boutique store-based model. The unorganized players in the industry have been unable to harness the power of technology, collective buying, hedging and continual improvements in design. The synergy in terms of design, processes and technology improvements would bring economies of scale to the business.
3. To use an understanding of the historic/ international/ consumer fashion trends from varied sources and provide direction to the internal team to translate them into desired products. Value for the business can be driven by constantly observing the business environment and competition and coming up with improvements, and innovations. Develop design leadership and develop an inimitable competitive edge over the competition as we have close relationships with the leading designers in India as well as Globally.
4. Investment of INR 4000 Crores over the next 5 years to setup a Greenfield Venture into a scalable business model. Develop and implement a strategy for a strong foundation for a successful enterprise and a market leader.
Relationships:
Internal: Design Team, Procurement, Finance, Retail, Visual Merchandising etc.
External: Vendors, Suppliers, Developers, Design Consultants, Regulatory Authorities etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Model Development & Execution Responsibilities:
- Co-Create, post review of prevailing Franchisee models in Jewellery and other retail organisations and post alignment with key stakeholders like legal, retail, finance etc, the Indriya Franchise Model/s.
- Identify and onboard potential franchise partners for Indriya.
- Develop strategies for franchise network expansion across key markets in India.
- Establish criteria for franchisee selection and ensure adherence to brand standards.
- Conduct market research to identify new territories with high potential for jewellery sales.
Key Metrics:
- Approval of the Franchisee Model by Top Management within a defined timeline.
- Number of new franchises opened.
- Success rate of new franchises in meeting sales targets within the first 6-12 months.
Operational Excellence and Standardization Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor operational processes to ensure consistency in in-store operations across all franchise locations.
- Partner with Retail Operations to create and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sales, customer service, inventory management, and store aesthetics.
- Partner with Retail HR and Training teams to hire and train franchise staff on operations, product knowledge, and customer engagement techniques.
Key Metrics:
- Franchise compliance with SOPs.
- Consistency in customer experience across franchise locations.
Revenue Growth and Profitability Responsibilities:
- Set and monitor sales targets for each franchisee and provide strategic guidance to achieve revenue goals.
- Partner with Merchandising to optimize pricing, promotions, and sales strategies to maximize profitability.
- Regularly review franchisee P&L statements to ensure financial health and provide corrective actions when needed.
Key Metrics:
- Sales growth rate per franchise.
- Profit margin per franchise.
Franchisee Relationship Management Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all franchise-related issues and concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with franchisees to foster loyalty and collaboration.
- Address and resolve operational, financial, or strategic challenges franchisees face.
- Gather feedback from franchisees to improve the franchise model and processes.
Key Metrics:
- Franchisee satisfaction and retention rates.
- Timely resolution of franchisee issues.
Brand Consistency and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all franchises maintain the integrity and image of the Indriya brand.
- Conduct regular audits to check compliance with brand standards, including merchandising, marketing, and store design.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure franchisees are aligned with national campaigns and promotions.
Key Metrics:
- Compliance with brand standards across all franchises. o Results from store audits and inspections.
