Job Title: Head of Finance

Location: Mumbai

Company: A listed infrastructure conglomerate with 25 years of expertise in executing Government projects.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Management:

- Formulate financial strategies and provisions for projects, including EMD as Bid Bond (Tender submission), Working Capital Limits, Term Loans with Banks & NBFCs, Bank Guarantees, and LCs.

- Act as a strategic financial advisor to the Leadership and Management Team, providing insights on organizational performance, risks, opportunities, and the latest industry practices.

- Advise the CFO and management on banking amendments, compliance requirements, and best practices in financial offerings.

- Drive financial modeling aligned with the overall business strategy and review assumptions for alignment with organizational goals.

Financial Operations & Risk Management:

- Support the CFO in preparing financial plans to enhance profitability and margins.

- Liaise with professional advisers to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

- Review and approve key financial operations, including bank account openings/closings, investment options, credit sanctions, LC requirements, and BG agreements.

- Oversee the preparation and submission of periodic financial documents and ensure readiness for bank audits.

- Evaluate and manage monthly cash flow forecasts, ensuring sufficient fund availability and identifying deficits proactively.

- Drive debt and loan restructuring initiatives to protect the organization from NPA risks.

Banking & Relationship Management:

- Liaise with banks and NBFCs to negotiate interest reductions, secure fresh credit facilities, and ensure timely renewal of sanction proposals.

- Ensure full utilization of bank limits and credit facilities within stipulated terms and conditions.

- Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and credit rating agencies.

Compliance & Reporting:

- Monitor GST compliance and coordinate for tax invoice arrangements.

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports.

- Verify financial agreements to ensure they align with coverage, tenure, and terms and conditions.

- Review and approve credit rating submissions and financial documentation.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Train and develop the finance team, conducting fortnightly knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities.

- Foster a high-performing team environment by monitoring individual and team performance, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

- Lead the adoption of digital solutions to optimize existing financial processes and SOPs.

Profitability & Cost Management:

- Monitor revenue and expenses to maintain a profitable bottom line.

- Meet departmental budgetary requirements, including manpower and operational costs.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

- Proven experience in financial strategy, banking relations, and operational finance.

- Strong understanding of infrastructure projects, government regulations, and financial compliance.

- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in team development and cross-functional collaboration.

- Expertise in cash flow management, debt restructuring, and credit management.

- Knowledge of GST, LC, BG, and credit rating processes.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on profitability and risk mitigation.
