Head of Finance (Fundraising)
- We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead our global financial operations.
- This critical role will focus on securing capital through fundraising initiatives, overseeing investment strategies, and driving financial efficiency as we expand our operations across multiple markets.
- You will play a vital role in financial planning, capital management, and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization, positioning us for continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising and Capital Strategy:
- Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, to secure capital for expansion and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, private equity investors, and financial institutions to drive fundraising efforts.
- Oversee capital structure and financial strategy to support the company's growth ambitions.
- Investment Banking and Financial Planning.
- Leverage investment banking experience to evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
- Lead due diligence processes for potential investments and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align financial strategies with the company's objectives.
2. Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
- Implement robust financial controls and reporting processes to provide real-time financial insights and ensure compliance across all regions.
- Manage multi-currency, multi-commodity accounting processes, ensuring streamlined financial operations.
3. Treasury and Working Capital Management:
- Optimize cash flow, working capital, and treasury management processes in a capital-intensive commodity trading environment.
- Implement strategies to mitigate foreign exchange risk and improve liquidity across global operations.
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and tax requirements across global jurisdictions.
4. Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and tax requirements across global jurisdictions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance.
5. Leadership and Team Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop team members to scale the finance function as the company grows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in fundraising, capital raising, and managing investor relations.
- Strong background in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity.
- Expertise in international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to provide actionable financial insights.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams.
- Experience in commodity trading, import/export businesses, or capital-intensive industries preferred.
