Role:
Job Purpose:
- Governance and cost control through financial budgeting, reporting and all financial compliance related activities for India
- To keep the management team abreast of the organization's financial health
- safeguard the interests of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely delivery on reports, returns and records
- Analysis and application of changes to accounting standards, group policies, corporate & taxation laws.
Framework & Boundaries:
- Laws like Companies Act, Income Tax, Service Tax, Customs Act
- Rules and regulations like the RBI rules, STPI rules, FEMA guidelines
- Group accounting policies & procedures Indian & Global Accounting Standards
Principle Accountabilities:
Statutory/ Management Reporting:
- Review and manage all financial reporting activities for the Management team of India and the Finance Managers/Controllers of all operating companies globally to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements, accounts, business transactions and related submissions.
- Ensure adherence to Accounting Standards in India as well as Group Accounting policy.
- Responsible for asset control management for all India owned assets
Taxation:
- Ensure accurate and timely tax computations, payments, returns and related submissions and maintain reports of the same
- Ensure adherence to transfer pricing regulations with DTAA regulations
- Be abreast of all new changes in taxation rules and keep management/group tax informed for major changes and its application.
Budgeting & forecasting:
- Manage the annual budget preparation exercise for by ensuring regular management discussions on functional budgets, costs and spends, timely and accurate budget preparation and submission of the same to Group for monthly review and controls
- Ensure a strict cost control through timely, month-on-month budgetary reporting on performance against budget to help the India management take decisions
Compliances:
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions for all compliances i.e. secretarial, STPI, Customs/Excise, RBI, VAT and others
- Responsible for managing and completing internal Group & external audit in time with no significant issues.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO requirements
Team Management:
- To build knowledge within team and Subject Matter experts in the areas of accounts, taxation and compliance.
- Will be responsible for keeping the team motivated and promote team towards excellence in their own spheres of work
- Identify skill gaps in team for current and future requirements, create plans for skill and competency development and implement and monitor development plans for increased team capability
Client Relation:
- Maintain healthy relation with all group entities and ensure accurate and timely invoicing and collections to ensure a continuous flow of information and speedy resolutions
Others:
- To assist in the vendor selection process with relevant team. Ensure timely vendor payment and invoice collections
- Manage cash flows for India for optimal cash management
- Manage for ex payments/receipts with best exchange rate
