Duties and Responsibilities
- Document daily financial transactions, both receipts and payments, and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Prepare asset, liabilities and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Process and ensure that the companys records (check register, general ledger accounts, balance sheets etc.) and the bank records are correct.
- To scrutinize all kinds of bills prepared for payment and keep close vigil on maintenance of cash by verifying the cash books daily.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll advance journal entries and assist in preparing payroll and controls and controlling income and expenditure.
- Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
- Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, cost accounting and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Manage and comply with local, state and federal government, reporting requirements and oversee all tax and regulatory / compliance issues.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
- To assist the Director in formulating the Budget Estimates and exercise budgetary control on Plan and Non Plan expenditure.
- Monitor expenditure, analyze revenues and determine budget various and report the same to management.
- To see that all audit objections and audit paras are replied and settled then and there without any delay.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and provide guidance to other accountants when needed.
- Process month-end and year-end process, accounts payable/ receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, budgeting, cash for casting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account\ statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed assets.
- Proper allocation of funds.
- Ensure the monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
- To control and monitor all online/pos/wallet transactions etc..
