US$ 500 million IT product engineering corporation which is a part of US$ 20 billion multiple vertical corporate group seeks a senior resource in Finance & Accounts.
Position : Head - Finance & Accounts
Joining location : Baroda
Job Purpose: To ensure that the organisation complies with entire gamut of activities covering financial accounting and achieves a clean external audit report. To ensure that the Executive team and Board, including all sub-committees, have accurate timely and relevant information on financial accounts related matters. Should have solid understanding of accounting principles
Duties and key responsibilities:
To lead the finance and accounts team to deliver effective and efficient processes, developing and embedding controls that safeguard assets and manage risk appropriately. Specifically:
- To oversee financial transaction processing and reconciliations within the organisation, ensuring that robust controls are in operation and workloads are managed effectively
- To regularly evaluate the operation of processes and controls and discuss with budget holders and/or senior management as necessary, making use of KPIs to monitor compliance
- To lead on compliance with the Financial Procedures Manual, ensuring that all procedures and policies are business focussed and communicated effectively
- To manage the relationship with our outsourced fulfilment provider from a financial perspective, ensuring that processes and controls are continuously reviewed against SLAs
- To collaborate across Directorates to ensure new income generation initiatives incorporate sound financial controls and efficient processes whilst meeting business need
- To develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture, focussing on efficient ways of working for both current and new processes
- To lead on the annual statutory year-end requirements, agreeing timetables and responsibilities with all involved, with the primary focus being to achieve a clean audit
- To ensure that all Board Committees are provided with accurate, timely and relevant information
- To lead on technical accounting compliance requirements, developing knowledge throughout the team and with other directorates where appropriate to ensure compliance
- To maintain the day-to-day relationship with our bank and other treasury service providers
- To support the CFO with cash flow forecasting models that support the charity's strategic business plans
- To review VAT returns, providing guidance to the Financial Accountant as required, managing the minimisation of irrecoverable VAT.
- The provision of pro-active taxation/gift aid advice throughout the charity, focusing on compliance and tax minimisation
- To review and authorize the monthly payroll process, working with the Financial Accountant and HR in maintaining an efficient service. Provision of cover for payroll requirements where necessary
- Must be proficient in SAP
Strategic management and planning
- To support the Chief Executive CFO in developing and producing strategic and business plans and work with them to develop a planned work programme for the charity
- To co-ordinate and direct the management and delivery of organisation-wide strategic projects and initiatives
- To develop, foster and maintain effective relationships with all relevant external stakeholders and organisations.
Line management
- To provide effective management and leadership, and conduct performance and development reviews of staff managed, to ensure motivated performance, high quality service delivery and achievement of the business plan
- To develop and support effective team working by staff managed
Budget management
- To ensure the proper management, reporting and re-forecasting of controlled budgets, and participate in budgeting and financial management at departmental level as required
- To provide direct responsibility for compliance costs, such as external audit, property leases and minimising irrecoverable VAT.
- Ability to lead a team of around 30-40 people
General Responsibilities
- To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities
- To be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting the role
- To carry out other associated duties as may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post
- To abide by organisational policies and practices, and the Working Principles.

Years of experience: Must have at least 15 - 18 years of post-qualification experience in the entire gamut of activities covering - financial accounting, out of which, preferably 5-8 years exposure in the IT services background.
Educational Qualification : CA minimum is mandated
