Job Description: Head of Account and Finance at a Broking Firm

Position Title: Head of Account and Finance

Job Summary:

As the Head of Account and Finance at our broking firm, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all financial aspects of our operations. You will be responsible for maintaining financial health, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing effective financial strategies to support the firm's growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the firm's strategic objectives.

- Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimize financial performance.

- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and market trends.

Accounting and Reporting:

- Supervise the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes and coordinate with external auditors for financial audits.

Treasury Management:

- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk by monitoring and forecasting cash flows and investments.

- Implement effective treasury strategies to optimize working capital and mitigate financial risks.

- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to ensure access to appropriate financing options.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SEC and other regulatory bodies.

- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate compliance risks and safeguard assets.

- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory inquiries and audits.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

- Proven experience (8 years) in a senior financial management role within the brokerage or financial services industry.

- Thorough understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.

- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute financial strategies to support business objectives.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.

- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
