The position will majorly :
- Be responsible for managing import/export supply chain from origin to destination and serves as the interface between the company and the Custom House Agent (CHA) and possess in-depth functional knowledge to enable smooth operations.
- Oversee and maintain companies trade compliance policy, programs, tools and related projects to ensure compliance with import/export laws and regulations in India and all countries where the company conducts trade.
- Work cross functionally with internal and external business partners to implement/maintain trade compliance.
The other KRA would be :
- Responsible for Import/Export excise and customs documentation
- Set up documentation and processes for all customs and international trade related operations.
- Liaising with concern Authorities of Customs & Excise Departments, investment centre and Port Authorities for Duty Exemption/EPCG/DGFT/Deemed Export Benefits and licenses.
- Co-ordinate with Custom authorities to procure any exemptions/EPCG/DGFT and other benefits on Custom duty.
- Supports compliance requirements and recommendations with other related organizations in maintaining continuity with trade compliance direction.
- Reviews and reports on the state of the company's compliance effectiveness, report areas of risk to senior team, recommend solutions, and obtain guidance and/or decision support for required improvements.
- Serves as prime contact for import/ export compliance and government inquiries or notifications relating to compliance issues. and any other inquiry or action
- Stays current on Indian import/ export regulatory changes and proposed legislation.
- Subject matter expert for Customs and Boarder Protection Regulations, including knowledge of customs valuation and classification.
- Maintain all import/export record keeping per applicable regulations.
- Manages import and export classification determinations, export licensing, Manufacturing License Agreements, Technical Assistance Agreements, end-use statements, and other government applications, certifications, and registrations.
- Designs import and export awareness and training programs.
- Management, updating and maintenance of agreements with service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure company process is compliant to local regulations.
- MIS to keep stake holders informed on the functional activity.
- Manages custom brokers and performs monthly post-entry audits against customs reports and customs broker electronic data, vendor and shipper invoice and import documentation.
- Prepares and files all required reports as specified by government export and import compliance agencies.
Skills :
- Minimum of 8-10 years in an Import/Export role.
- Experience in managing and maintaining customs compliance procedures, soliciting and securing import & export shipments to and from the India.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Indian import/export laws.
- In-depth knowledge of Import/Export process.
- Computer proficiency on Microsoft Office software.
