Head - Equity Derivative - Prime Finance & Clearing Operations

- As part of the Markets Operations strategic model, our client have an operations hub in Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangalore within the Global Service Centre. These support multiple products and legal entities supporting business critical functions whilst their partners in the onshore hubs concentrate on functions which require proximity to business or clients.

- The operations are organised in product teams which are in line with the overall Markets Operations structure: Equities, Fixed Income, FX/MM, Cross Product Services, Client Data Services and Collateral Management & Client Valuation Operations.

In addition there are other support functions including Finance, People Development and Business Risk & Control Management

- Ensure the smooth running of the Operations teams in Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangalore making sure an appropriate structure exists below the management level and that succession planning is in place

- Maintain high standards of control and minimal operational loss incidents

- Work with cross functional global product heads in Markets Operations to plan and execute future migrations, based on agreed end-state operating model

- Develop new ideas and strategic plans for how Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangalore can bring greater value to the global operations function

- Work with functional global product heads to ensure benefits from migrations are realized through cost benefits while maintaining / improving service levels

- Ensure consistent procedures are being followed for migrations from all locations and build capability in Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangalore to receive and manage functions

- Continue to improve processes once migrated, and realize efficiency savings. Conduct root cause analysis on repetitive process exceptions and implement fixes

- Establish appropriate metrics to monitor controls, productivity and service levels

- Recruit and train local staff as required

- Establish materials, training programmes etc to ensure specialist product and process knowledge can be retained and handed on appropriately to new staff

- Work with IT to implement both strategic and tactical change programmes

- The primary purpose of this role is to lead the Equity Derivative, Prime Finance and Clearing operations team of approximately 150 FTEs. The team supports various processes across balance sheets.

- Given the diverse functions, balance sheets and regulatory focus, this is a senior role and part of the Market operations senior management team reporting into the Head of Market Operations, GSC.
