Head - Equipment Operations - Logistics/Supply Chain

We have the following requirement with MNC companies in Mumbai

Head of Equipment Operations - Shipping / Logistics

Lead the equipment management function for the entire cluster.

Good understanding of customer's business and commercial drivers, market dynamics and thus optimizing on positioning and repairs to ensure cost leadership in the market and achieving the volume target

Effective management of empty containers and assist in all aspects of equipment management related activities for assigned region.

Driving the equipment costs and achieving cost leadership

Ensure equipment availability as per the sales forecast

Coordinating with the LOC for all the equipment related matters

Responsible for routine inventory management and coordination with storage / repair yards, location operations teams to ensure that requirements of customers are met

Reuse and alternate dropoff / pickups

Driving reduction in equipment imbalance

Establishing good relations with internal and external stakeholders including Rail operators, transporters, yard operators, Country and Centre teams

Driving effective Vendor management and audits, KPI's

Effective Cost Leadership

Nil Lost Bookings due to equipment shortage

Reduction in empty dwell time and long-standings

Candidate Requirements:

- Has more than 6-8 years of relevant experience in heavy equipment handling operations with proven performance record and Leadership Skills

- Interact with other functions with strong communication skills

- Capable of driving efficiency, standardization and process compliance

- Effective stakeholder management

Prefer candidates from Shipping / Logistics / Supply Chain / Telecom / Automobiles / Heavy Machinery / Transportation / Cargo / Equipment handling containers / Port handling

MBA and SCM background with 7-10 years

Logistics industry is preferred but not mandatory

Diversity candidates are welcome
