Head - EHS
The EHS Head will oversee all aspects of environmental, health, and safety protocols within our 5 manufacturing plants. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and manage a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective execution of EHS initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the manufacturing process, from design and engineering to production and distribution.
- Develop and deliver training programs on EHS topics to employees at all levels of the organization, promoting a culture of safety, awareness, and accountability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, representing the company in inspections, inquiries, and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance overall performance.
- Stay abreast of emerging EHS regulations, technologies, and best practices, and proactively incorporate relevant advancements into company policies and procedures.
- Manage emergency response and crisis management protocols, ensuring readiness to effectively respond to incidents and mitigate potential impacts.
- Champion initiatives to minimize environmental impact, reduce waste generation, and promote sustainable practices throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 16 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within manufacturing environments, In-depth knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and standards, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, and ANSI requirements.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective EHS programs that drive continuous improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve EHS goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar professional certifications preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with regulatory agencies.
