Head Domestic Planning & Category Location: Ludhiana

The head of domestic planning & category is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to planning and category management operations.

Job Title and Overview:

- The Head of Domestic Planning & Category is a key leadership role within .You will be responsible for leading the strategic planning and category management activities for our domestic operations.

- You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance, to drive business growth and optimize product offerings in the domestic market.

- Your role will involve analyzing market trends, developing category strategies, managing product assortment, and driving operational efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

- Develop and implement the overall strategic plan for the domestic market, aligned with the TGCL's goals and objectives.

- Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, consumer preferences, and competitive trends.

- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of category strategies and initiatives.

- Collaborate with senior management to set financial targets, sales forecasts, and budgetary guidelines.

2. Category Management:

- Develop and execute category management strategies to drive revenue, market share, and profitability.

- Conduct regular reviews of the product portfolio, assessing performance, and making recommendations for assortment optimization.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective pricing, promotion, and merchandising strategies for each category.

- Monitor and analyze category performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, develop joint business plans, and ensure effective execution of category strategies.

- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize supply chain processes, ensure product availability, and manage inventory levels.

- Coordinate with the finance team to analyze category profitability, pricing strategies, and financial implications of category decisions.

4. Team Leadership:

- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the domestic planning and category management teams.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, encouraging teamwork, professional development, and knowledge sharing.

- Set clear objectives, evaluate performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.

- Identify talent gaps, recruit top talent, and provide training and mentoring to enhance team capabilities.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Proven experience (Textile preferred) of 10+ years in strategic planning, category management, or related roles, preferably within the consumer goods or retail industry.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, consumer insights, and financial metrics to drive decision-making.

- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category strategies that have resulted in revenue growth and market share expansion.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.

- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.

- Proficiency in using market research tools, data analysis software, and MS Office applications.
