We have a leadership opportunity for Head - Devops with one of our client for Chennai location.
Job Description:
- Heading the TechOps, Service Operations and IT functions within the organization
- Collaborate with internal business units, functional heads and other internal stakeholders to ensure functional goals are aligned and met
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
- Overseeing our cloud hosting environments on both technical and costing front
- Vision and plans to move towards a highly reliable and robust platform
- Provide technical governance and leadership to the functional teams as needed
- Evangelize best operational practices for high performance hosting solutions company-wide
- Support modern technology stack for Engineering team that will deliver new product for continuous rapid agile release cycles (incl. Development, DevOps, Database, EDW, Containers, and Cloud teams)
- Strong passion for automation and driving - Infrastructure as code-
- Identify areas where manual efforts can be minimized and encourage the team to get everything automated
- Work closely with Product Engineering teams to establish operational guidance.
- Be a key approver in release and change management activities
- Responsible for leading the CI/CD maturity journey of the engineering organization
Qualifications
- 13+ years of experience IT and Operations
- Strong experience in managing techops team
- 6+ years of experience on Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Experience working across multiple DevOps projects, generally with a molecular focus on technology landscapes as it relates to cloud and automation efforts;
- Prior experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet etc.,
- Expertise level knowledge in working on web based solutions on the cloud (.NET, nginx, Apache, SQL server, mongoDB)
- Ability to, plan, prioritize the work of others, drive, and contribute to multi-dimensional projects across multiple teams
- Prior experience in leading production database engineering team
- Experience in implementing CISO best practices and securing the platform from external threats
- Knowledge of networking technologies such as switching, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
- Proven experience in reducing infrastructure cost by implementing best devops practices and automation where required
- Experience in managing 24x7 production support teams
- Experience with JIRA platform
- Experience in managing IM, CM and RM functions
- Good understanding on internal network setup and be able to manage internal IT helpdesk support teams
- Experience in CDN preferably Akamai
- Rich experience in ITIL tools like Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow etc.,
- Ability to work within a geographically distributed team.
- Experienced in managing teams in agile environment
- Work to continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of our systems and environments
- Experience in virtualization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in log management tools like ELK, Splunk etc.,
- Good understanding on database technologies like MSSQL, mongoDB, MySQL and previous experience in managing DBA team
- Strong in monitoring tools like NewRelic, Zabbix, AppDynamics
- Prior experience implementing CI/CD
- Experience using source control systems such as Git
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and tasks
- Strong written and spoken English
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technologies.
