Head - Design - eCommerce Startup - NIFT/NID

We are hiring for an exciting well funded startup that is changing the way people design, decorate and furnish their homes. The company's management team has a track record of building world class companies and is now bringing in disruption in the home decor and design segment.

Founded in 2012, Our client is a personalized home design and decor marketplace for homeowners in India and South East Asia. The founders are from companies such as Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, SpaceMatrix. They have received funding of $ 12.6 mn from top venture firms like Helion, Bessemer, and Jungle.

Our Client is looking for a creative and talented Design Head to lead, plan and manage the design efforts.

As a Design Head, you will be expected to:

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee Interior Design function to ensure the delivery of design and drafting works required for the projects proposal and execution; provide consultative assistance in visualizing Customers ideas to facilitate sales.

- Knowledge of different fabrics and materials for the design of furniture, upholstery, fit outs and joining works

- Knowledge in Interior Design principles, Presentation/mood Boards, Building and Construction process.

- Knowledge in furniture production shop drawings

- Skilled in design creativity and visualization.

- Strong planning, organizational and negotiation skills.

- Keep abreast of the latest interior designing techniques, principles & all relevant technologies & solutions.

- Create and train the organization on interior design standards and policies

- Meet with the Customer / Consultant & obtain the relevant ideas/imagination for proper visualization & translation into a concept design / document scratch

- People management skills.

Candidate Profile:

- Degree in Architecture or Interior Design with minimum 10 years relevant work experience from a leading design school (NIFT/NID)

- Knowledge in AutoCAD, Photoshop and Microsoft Office Applications.

- Excellent Communication Skills.

- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

- Creative, innovative and having analytical and problem solving skills.
