As the Head of Design and Development in Hospitality, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of project planning, design, and implementation for new developments and renovation projects within our hospitality portfolio. You will collaborate closely with executive management, architects, interior designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Strategy:

- Develop and implement strategic plans for new hotel developments and renovation projects.

- Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluations, and market analysis to determine project viability.

- Define project scope, objectives, and budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Design Oversight:

- Lead the conceptual and schematic design phases, ensuring designs meet brand standards, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.

- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and consultants to develop innovative and guest-centric design solutions.

- Review and approve design drawings, specifications, and material selections.

Development Management:

- Manage the overall project schedule, budget, and resources effectively.

- Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and quality project delivery.

- Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Quality Assurance:

- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure adherence to design specifications and brand standards.

- Implement quality assurance processes and standards to maintain consistency across all projects.

Financial Management:

- Prepare project budgets and forecasts, track expenses, and manage project costs to maximize profitability.

- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and consultants to achieve cost efficiencies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Communicate project updates and milestones to executive management and stakeholders.

- Foster positive relationships with internal teams, owners, investors, and external partners.

Risk Management:

- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and financial liabilities.

- Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in hospitality design, development, and project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Skills:

- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.

- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

- Comprehensive knowledge of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building systems.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, project management software, and other relevant tools.

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
