Head - Data Sciences - FinTech Startup

Role- The Head of Data Sciences will lead the development of Machine Learning and big data capabilities to empower analytics and modelling, democratize the access of big data technology and deliver advanced statistical and big data modelling solutions.

This role is a combination of Machine Learning and Big Data Architecture (MUST)

The head of data sciences is expected to possess the excellent technical credentials to authoritatively lead a team of highly-qualified professionals and the ability to provide hands-on support to the team when required.

Requirement-

Must have 12+ years experience post a Masters/PhD degree in a quantitative field(computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, software engineering, physics, or related discipline in marketing and analytics) from a premier institute

Experience in applying and classify recurring types of problems, and the most effective techniques for each of them (e.g. clustering, dimensionality reduction, classification, NLP techniques, etc.)

Evaluate relevant /production ready algorithms with respect to scalability (execution time, computational resources), accuracy, learning capabilities, suitability for execution in a distributed environment, etc.

Architect Analytic solutions utilizing Big Data Technologies as Hadoop Technology stack (Map Reduce, Hive, Pig, Mahout, Spark, etc.).etc.

Individual in this role is expected to work with very large data sets (both structured and unstructured), data cleansing/transformation, feature engineering, apply statistical analysis, data visualization, data mining, design and develop algorithms and define path to implementation with product engineering teams

Thought Leadership:

- Demonstrated experience in leading teams to monetize data into products and service offerings

- Experience with moving prototypes to production environment and optimizing models in production environment

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

- Entrepreneurial experience (starting a company, running innovation teams within companies) strongly preferred

- Display a natural instinct for innovation and pragmatic 'out-of-the-box' thinking.
