Job Title: Head - Data Science

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Head of Data Science will leverage both management experience and technical expertise to lead teams of data scientists across multiple analytics, data science, and AI projects. This role involves conceptualizing, scoping, and delivering complex analytics projects while overseeing the development, testing, and maintenance of analytical models. The candidate will work closely with leadership and business units to drive impact through analytics and continuously identify opportunities for improvement within the analytics center of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and manage analytics, data science, and AI strategy across multiple business verticals.

- Provide expertise in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, contributing to model development, refinement, and implementation.

- Oversee teams of data scientists, resolving bottlenecks in project execution across manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, R&D, commercial, sales, and legal.

- Collaborate with business teams to develop and implement analytics solutions.

- Work closely with data engineering, application engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to implement scalable solutions.

- Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, MLOps, and Generative AI.

- Drive a culture of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, or a related field.

- Proficiency in programming in at least two languages.

- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced statistical algorithms, including machine learning, deep learning, MLOps, and AI algorithms, with exposure to GenAI, agentic workflows, and RAG.

- At least 15 years of experience in analytics.

- At least 4 years of experience managing analytics teams; experience in developing teams from scratch is a plus.

- Strong business acumen with experience in developing analytics solutions across 3-4 domains.

Required Skills:

- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical content to non-technical audiences.

- Proven ability to structure and lead complex analytics projects.
