Skill Set

Strong managerial, planning, analytical, statistical, decision making, presentation, communication and lateral thinking skills.

- In-depth knowledge of the CA liability / transaction banking products and retail banking industry including the applicable regulations and guidelines

- Thorough understanding of the target customer segmentation and alignment of the relevant products accordingly.

- Degree, preferably with an MBA.

- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience

- A highly commercial approach to business, with the ability to quickly understand and analyse key financial and customer drivers.

- A good team player with the ability to manage relationships effectively across the bank and externally, where relevant.

Job Description

The primary responsibility will be to conceptualize, develop and implement plans for new liability products which include product definition and development, creating of pricing strategy, branding and marketing plans with the ultimate goal to contributing to the profitability of the Bank. To develop and create, own, manage and lead the CA Liability Portfolio, in terms of volume & profitability per product, within Retail & Transaction Banking to fulfill the growing needs of retail liability customer needs

Designing the overall CA Liability strategy for Retail Banking in line with the Bank's strategic focus. This primarily entails: -

- Assessing the current suite of liability products for relevance and appropriateness in the current market conditions.

- Monitor industry, market, competitor and regulatory trends to ensure that opportunities and risk are identified and appropriate plans are implemented

- Designing and developing new and innovative products and ensuring it follows all internal processes and is launched in a timely manner.

- Conduct focus groups with Sales and Distribution teams.

- Ensure that the bank's products remain competitive and proactively manage the withdrawal/migration of products which are no longer relevant

- Implementing a - Sales Strategy- for Deposit Mobilization / Accounts onboarding by working closely with the respective Regional and Branch

Managers as well as the targeted segments of the bank, e.g. business banking

- Ensure that volumes and value targets are set for each channel and product with the relevant profitability measures / enablers in place to grow CASA.

- Present product updates to business audiences (internal and external) as required

- Conduct, bank wide training programs for all new products before launch date with the relevant sales and Distribution teams.

- Work with the Marketing and Advertising teams to ensure that new and existing focus products are featured and communicated to the market to enhance sales.

- Monitoring and evaluating the current trends in the portfolio to recommend corrective action / retention management, as appropriate with the relevant sales and distribution heads.

- Liaising with IT, Retail Operations and Alternate Channels / Transaction Banking for system design and integration to ensure seamless support to branches and ensuring efficient customer service

- Ensure that all products have Central Bank approval and manage all regulatory / legal / operational frameworks

- Manage pricing across current account tariffs
